The Convocation was presided over by Mr. Bikram Dasgupta, Founder and Executive Chairman, Globsyn Group. The event was attended by Mr. R.C. Bhattacharya, Vice-Chairman, GBS, who administered the Convocation Oath, and Mr. Aloke Mookherjea, Former Senior Advisor, Ernst & Young LLP and Chairman, Flakt (India) Limited, who is also a Governing Council member of GBS and the Chairman of the Convocation Committee. Those present at the Convocation included members of the Governing Council and Academic Council, faculty of the B-School, parents of the students graduating, and GBS alumni.

Addressing the gathering Mr. Bikram Dasgupta said, “Our journey of over 20 years has made us realize that education cannot be linear; hence, there must be disruption. In this ‘new normal’, it is important that a sense of sustainable development needs to be inculcated in the lives of the students environmentally and socially, as they go through their management education, only then it will become easier for them to adapt to the demands of the corporate world as they step into the industry. At GBS, we have created an environment that permits the young minds to develop themselves sustainably through what I call ‘Learning Beyond Education’. Over time, the GBS edifice with all complementary and interconnected elements of Beyond Education has helped shape the young minds into compassionate and responsible managers of the corporate world. Today, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the graduating students of Batch 2019-21 for their achievements, and wish them luck for an extremely successful corporate career. May they carry the GBS flag to all corners of the world.”

The onset of the global pandemic has resulted in progressive changes in the B-School’s academic delivery. Having identified areas to harness technology, improve communications, streamline processes, the B-School has successfully created a niche for itself on the global industry-academia map, and has built a sustainable, technology-driven education framework for future learners. Be it seamlessly transitioning from an offline to an online mode of academic delivery to a hybrid learning model, from on-Campus recruitment drives to virtual internships and getting offered desirable job opportunities, from a digital admission process to issuing diplomas on a Secured Certificate Verification Platform, GBS has always focused on innovation with the appropriate use of technology, pertinent to the needs of time.

Mr. Rahul Dasgupta, Director, GBS, said, “I am very happy to see the graduating batch, who have witnessed the seamless transition from a pre to a post-pandemic academic delivery, has gained a strong foothold in the corporate world, and has come back today to get convocated. Like always, this year too, we have experienced an extremely successful Placement season with a very high average package, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my earnest gratitude to all our stakeholders for their continued support and trust in the brand ‘Globsyn Business School’ over the past two decades.”

As an institution, Globsyn Business School has always been able to recognize the trends of the upcoming paradigm shift in the education ecosystem. In these past couple of years, the GBS has taken relevant steps to create a well-planned out mechanism of knowledge dissemination that included synchronous or virtual classes; face-to-face or traditional physical classroom models; asynchronous or pre-recorded classes, self-learning techniques that the students can imbibe on their own, and now hybrid learning – empowering students with an opportunity to choose their own learning path. In the next few years, the B-School plans to transform its pedagogy by integrating AR and 3D videos with traditional techniques to make the Hybrid Learning Model more immersive and self-paced.
